Slow Dancing

My love is cruel as the night
She steals the sun, and shuts out the light
All of my colors, they turn to blue
Win or lose

She does it slow dancing

Scarlet eyes and a see-through heart
She saw me coming right from the start
She picked me up, but had me down on my knees
Just to beg her please

Take me slow dancing

And I don't know why a man
Searches for himself in his lover's eyes
No I don't know why a man
Sees the truth but needs the lies

My love is restless as the wind
She moves like a shadow across my skin
She left with my conscience, I don't want it back
It just gets in the way

If you wanna go slow dancing

the wanderer

I went out walking
Through streets paved with gold
Lifted some stones
Saw the skin and bones
Of a city without a soul
I went out walking
Under an atomic sky
Where the ground won't turn
And the rain it burns
Like the tears when I said goodbye

Yeah I went with nothing
Nothing but the thought of you
I went wandering

I went drifting
Through the capitals of tin
Where men can't walk
Or freely talk
And sons turn their fathers in
I stopped outside a church house
Where the citizens like to sit
They say they want the kingdom
But they don't want God in it

I went out riding
Down that old eight lane
I passed by a thousand signs
Looking for my own name

I went with nothing
But the thought you'd be there too
Looking for you

I went out there
In search of experience
To taste and to touch
And to feel as much
As a man can
Before he repents

I went out searching
Looking for one good man
A spirit who would not bend or break
Who would sit at his father's right hand
I went out walking
With a bible and a gun
The word of God lay heavy on my heart
I was sure I was the one
Now Jesus, don't you wait up
Jesus, I'll be home soon
Yeah I went out for the papers
Told her I'd be back by noon

Yeah I left with nothing
But the thought you'd be there too
Looking for you

Yeah I left with nothing
Nothing but the thought of you
I went wandering

Metal

Awake to Sparks
some tired car part crawl
exhaust
Metal on Female
a rocket shot from glass crowned empty coke
old school like the milk man
a Faith in the Wind's Reality
that bottled
rocket
this fogged out expanse
empty fields under bursts of orange magnesium
illuminate and swell
in the cloud's head hung low
carbonation
those thousand orbs released
that notion to travel Upwards
beyond the masking of the Clear Blue
to that what is true
we are all just a room with a throne and a view
Sparks

wake up dead man

illuminating lazarus
shake and turn the infirmaries
pop gun medicatrix kill or cure
wake, glass eyed sleeper
the bereaved are all
the phosphorescent thinkers
banging out parts of prayers in the half-light
be thou shine
behind the vision
be Thou

beggars with bread.

we ask to receive from worn out knees.
think we need more to only believe.
asleep in the light of the Majesty.
about us.
its all around. us.
one.
get up.
off your knees.
or the rocks and the trees
will speak.
we ask to receive from idols and thieves.
then think our complaints are a tribute to Thee.
amongst so many that continue to bleed.
about Love.
its all we Have. Love.
give.
give it away.
or the rocks and the trees
will cry out.
as we go on washing our own hands and feet.
i know that there is work to complete.
beggars with bread for the rest of the fleet.
please.
im up off my knees.
show me how.
to sing.

Mercy

the quality of Mercy is not strained. it droppeth as the gentle rain from heaven upon the place beneath. it is twice blest: it blesseth him that gives and him that takes. tis mightiest in the mightiest; it becomes the throned monarch better than his crown. his scepter shows the force of temporal power, the attribute to awe and majesty, wherein doth sit the dread and fear of kings. BUT MERCY IS ABOVE THIS SCEPTERED SWAY; it is enthroned in the hearts of kings; it is an attribute to God Himself; and earthly power doth then show like God's when Mercy seasons justice.
